I was really surprised how easy and fast it was to install. The ridgeline racking is super simple and the Sol-Ark inverter made it a plug and play install.
Meet George Dean. George and his son installed his Grid-Tied, Battery Backup system.
This is his story.
I have a worked in construction during the summers while I attended college. That knowledge allowed me to and built and wired the addition the solar array rests on.
The most difficult part of the installation was, I spent a lot of time reading and watching videos trying understanding the NEC code my state was using and what applied to my build. I would recommend anyone attempting this type of project to get a plan set. The professional look of the plan set provided by Unbound put both the electrical inspector and electric company at ease. They tend to have a lot more questions when you say your going to build it yourself. But with they plan set and the quick progress I made. I had little issues getting approved by both. Also the electrical one line drawing provided in the plan set helped out a bunch and answered most of my wiring questions. It even showed me how I needed to derate my main distribution panel’s breaker.
The only unforeseen additional parts or tools you needed was I had to add two more grounding grounds and run a #4 grounding wire to my House panel, plus several orders for labels per the State inspector
The entire installation process took about 24 hours total to install, I probably researched online 3 times that much to see what others have done.
I really liked the project. I found it really interesting working with the sales team to size a unit to my specific needs and what I was trying to achieve. I was really surprised how easy and fast it was to install. The ridgeline racking is super simple and the Sol-Ark inverter made it a plug and play install. What I thought would take days if not weeks took hours.
I liked the complete package the unbound provided. The shipping was superfast and I never once was pressured to buy.
